is this country really so full of transphobes with nothing better to do that they are organising a pile-on against a major smoothie brand for unfollowing a bigot

i guess more people boycotting the coca-cola corporation is a good thing all things considered, but still wtf

Delighted to announce that I've been appointed The Programming Language Decider by a semi-prominent developer*; I decide whether something is or is not a programming language.

My first decree is that everything is a programming language and they're all bad.

That's not to say that the EU isn't flawed - though I believe we would be far better off in, and we've absolutely 'thrown the baby out with the bathwater' here.

The whole point of the single market was to enable frictionless trade, we really can't have our cake and eat it too.

Well beyond satire.

The post-Brexit mess isn't caused by "the crippling bureaucracy of the EU"; it's that of *being outside* the EU.

The idea of staying in the single market or EEA was slammed as "Brexit in name only", so why are we surprised when we don't keep the benefits?

It's been almost a year but I still hate the term "social distancing"

It's physical distancing we need, and social closeness more than ever!

Random cursed thought: if one had a laptop with a smart card reader (say, an old Elitebook or something), would it be possible to use EMV payment cards as a 2nd factor authentication device w/ PIN? Is there something they lack vs typical PC smart cards that make them unsuitable?

Looking at buying an e-reader for textbooks and technical books mainly (decent web browser a big plus, but not 100% essential) to replace an iPad - hopefully easier on my eyesight and to avoid distractions.

Does anyone have any recommendations?
