It has a really nice sense of mystery that's very appropriate for what you're actually doing; you dig up stuff from the past and try to guess what it was about, but don't really get a whole lot of anything to confirm that

Which is helped a lot by how much everything branches. I visited everything in what felt like a completely different order this time around, which led to more than a few discoveries - both in terms of new events, and new understandings

That's a thing I really like in games, and something that definitely makes Heaven's Vault a favorite; when the game really understands the gap between what the player knows and what the player has done, and doesn't try to make them march in lockstep
