it took almost no configuration to get my #arduboy to imitate a #nintendoswitch controller and make it draw squiidverse posts. https://cybre.space/media/riPZpJ3j8MZuPGJhSzc
@venko i basically did the instructions at https://github.com/progmem/Switch-Fightstick for the Arduino Micro (atmega32u4).
@devurandom
THE CAPTURE BUTTON
@venko sadly, the capture button would not let me also get the arduboy in the shot.
note: i am only doing this to test the capabilities of the program. i will still draw all of my posts manually.
@devurandom yo that's cool I want one..
@loki heh... i ordered mine from dragonbox.de (which works across europe), but i don't know where you live, so also worth checking out all the retailers at https://arduboy.com/buy-now/ .
@devurandom the UK retailer is all sold out rip. Thanks though, I might pick it up on dragonbox when I get paid.
@loki though i would also say to be careful with it -- the plastic that covers the front can get scratched easily. it isn't visible on the photo due to bad focus, but mine already has a scratch above the screen (at least it isn't noticable while the screen is on, though...)
@devurandom ouch. I'll have to look into obtaining a case or a screen protector for it when I get one then. Perhaps I can 3D print something at my local hackspace.
@devurandom Oh shit I have an arduboy, I should try this
@devurandom How does this work?
Are you doing micro USB out => USB-C to mimic a wired pro controller?
@robotsneedhugs actually, the micro-usb is plugged into a standard usb port on the side of the switch dock, where it imitates a wired hori pokken controller (which, in turn, the console interprets as if it's a wired pro controller) -- at least according to the readme file.
when i turn on the arduboy, i see the pairing window, then it "presses" the buttons necessary to get through the pairing menus, moves to the top left of the drawing window and starts going from top to bottom, snake style.
@devurandom Wow, neat!
I totally forgot about the dock...
@robotsneedhugs@mastodon.sociaalso, you can actually plug a usb keyboard into the dock and use it for the occasions when you need to type stuff (whether it's entering names or posting screenshots/videos on social media).
@devurandom How does configuring it like that work?
