@devurandom Try 1975, when they attacked anyone who made an independent BASIC for Altairs or other home computers. Extortion, bribery, and calling people "thieves" are how they got on everyone's machines, except Atari (who made an arguably better BASIC in half the ROM space). And Tramiel at Commodore tricked them into a perpetual license he used on the PET, VIC, and C64.

Microsoft have always been and will always be villains.

CP/M got renamed as DR-DOS.
Microsoft then made Windows break under DR-DOS.
