Got a phone screen tomorrow for a job in Colorado. Been trying to move that way because it's a good state and my friend @Alamantus lives there. So in prep, I'm gonna toot about why I'm good for the job.
1.) I'm a maker. It's in my blood. Even if I'm not getting paid for it I'm learning new techniques and also teaching that to other people.
2.) I'm also a teacher, and have been teaching for about 3 years, which will be helpful getting youth into the makerspace programs.
3.) I was supposed to have experience with 2 technologies off of a list of 10. I actually have experience with a majority of the tech listed.
4.) I also have a patent. Because I can bring my ideas to fruition and make concrete progress.
5.) So aside from my qualifications and my experience and my passion, I also LOVE libraries. This program is part of the library program, which can serve the community well. I want to create a space that leads to stronger, more resilient communities.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
I think the makerspace interview went well? I made them laugh a few times, and I mentioned my patent and that moving was not "an undue burden". Colorado has been a goal for a while now. I was kinda tense at the beginning but I think I relaxed more near the end.
The fact that I got a message for a phone screen only a few days after applying is a good sign.
HOLY SHIT THEY WANT ME TO INTERVIEW IN PERSON. I GUESS I'M FLYING TO COLORADO
