Hey y'all, I'm new to the whole mastodon)thing, but I'm happy to be here! V interested in programming and technical solutions to achieve results. I'm a and by habit and by trade, so ways to improve people's lives using tech is a genuine concern. I love and much more. and and always down to talk.

@descartez Hey, welcome! Any *technical solutions for solarpunk* you're inspired to work on recently? 😃

descartez @descartez

@adamsky mainly been looking at solar stuff. I'd love to use solar panels to run a small instance of a server for my friends. Also thinking about tracking mechanisms for aquaponics.

@descartez Cool! I've been thinking about setting up a solar powered server myself, still need to learn some more before I'll be able to do that. Got any resources?

I guess a truly resilient server, or any computer really, should have a connection to the web that is not dependent on the energy grid. That's why I'd love to experiment with solar-powered mesh networks in the future as well. The time is ripe it seems, with all the dirt cheap SBCs and new decentralisation-centric software popping up

@adamsky I would love to figure out how to build a mesh network.
