@datagrok If you're going to go 40%, why not go ortholinear?

I built one of these atreus.technomancy.us/ for my home office, though daily driver at work is kinesis advantage.

@ant_lion Oh it's not for me; it's just the first example of DIY split row-staggered I've encountered, and the kit is cheap. A friend of mine is into the layout.

My project board is a Mitosis (split column-staggered wireless.) My endgame is basically the same but more sculpted & ergonomic, like a dactyl or lightcycle, but with fewer keys.

But achieving both sculpted and designed for cheap manufacturing is going to be tricky 😁

@datagrok I think the Kinesis Advantage is probably the best keyboard I'm ever going to use. It's amazing.

I do have a fantasy that I'll travel the world with my portable web-dev office on my back, and a huge honking keyboard doesn't fit in with that. I like the Atreus but might build one with better switches and maybe 8 or 10 more keys.
