Idea : An instance where everyone gets allotment of x (x=3?) toots per day for each month. At month's end of each the epoch ends and counts reset. You'd feel like you have lots of toots early on then later in the month you'd start rationing very carefully. Could also do this with favourites and boosts. Inspired by @bea
@compthink I love this. You could randomize the start of each month (based on join date?) for each person so the instance doesn't grind to a halt during the last week (or maybe that would be cool to see?).

@cwm I'd be curious to see if it got quiet near month's end. After a few months people would be more cautious earlier, making sure each toot counts, but the unknown need to talk later would be this interesting tension.
