You know, in all the discussion about different e2e encrypted chat clients, I don't see anybody talking about keybase.io for some reason.

It seems to work seamlessly, is open source, allows chat w/ multiple devices and even group chats, even allows you to have an encrypted filesystems, an encrypted git that only your team members can see... It all looks hella convenient. Anyone have any thoughts on ?

@viomi im kinda unimpressed with "open source" anything if i cant self host it. im lukewarm about wire for the same reason

@chr Ooh, yeah I wasn't even thinking about that. The filesystem stuff and like, everything is hosted by them, even if it is encrypted.. If they go bankrupt, bye bye stuff.

I'll just have to find a way to do all this cool shit that keybase is doing but self-hostable.. Guess I'm adding onto my chat client project then :blobthinkingsmirk:
