"Gifted kids"
Psssst...
The reason "gifted kids" are so frequently fucked up is because being told over and over again that one is innately better than the other kids engenders partial traits of clinical narcissism in a person. Often these will include a chaotic boom and bust relationship with self-esteem and desire for praise. It has nothing to do with the actuality of being "smart" it's just toxic socialization.
Have a good day!

Things we didn't do:
- Start the fire
- Shoot the deputy
- Steal the cookies from the cookie jar
Things we did:
- Tried to fight it
- Shot the sheriff
- Put the sham in the shama-lama-ding-dong
Things we will do:
- Survive
- Rock you
- Walk 500 miles
- Walk 500 more
Things we won't do:
- Get fooled again
- Back down
- That
Things we will never do:
- Give you up
- Let you down
- Run around
- Desert you
(Oops:
- I did it again)
So, remember about a month ago when stuff about the Linux Fox Girl went around? Someone reportedly tracked down Alan Mackey, and got his blessing on giving her a name (Xenia), and accidentally confirmed the character to be trans.

How do y’all manage to listen to stuff in bed? I keep trying earbuds, but every pair gets ruined when I fall asleep and roll over and pull on the cord. It’s ridiculous.
I tried wireless earbuds, but the pair I was using plays a LOUD sound effect when they shut off due to inactivity, which was waking me up again.
If I could find a pair of wireless earbuds that didn’t do that, that’d be perfect…
If, at 1 AM on Sunday, you ask your virtual assistant what "tomorrow's" weather will be like, it will respond with Monday's forecast, not Sunday's like you probably wanted.
To me, this is a pretty clear example of how speech-based user interfaces still have a long way to go. There's a fundamental disconnect between the way people communicate with other people and the way the computer expects people to communicate with it.
Brilliant project that tidies up public domain ebooks.
Gutenberg and Internet Archive are wonderful resources, but the texts are poorly formatted for actual use, especially on ereaders.
This is a volunteer driven initiative to bring these texts up to date with modern standards and make them look as good as possible on the page.
I wouldn't mind my school's Office 365 webmail interface having such a short inactivity timeout...if it would actually just take me back to the login page after it signs me out.
Instead, it just goes to a useless "You've successfully signed out!" page and I have to open the login page again from my bookmarks. Why this??
