Goodness knows I've probably given a lot of unsolicited advice in my time but this thing happens, where AMAB men and nonbinary people feel the need to tell me how it's best to do things in their experience.

This is in situations where I've not asked for advice, nor even expressed a lack of confidence.

Sometimes they throw in a few words that only people with advanced knowledge would know, while conveying novice-level concepts.

If I ask why they're doing it they say they're just thinking aloud.

Cas @cassolotl

It feels intrusive and gross and authoritative and it gives me the heebie-jeebies that you don't even realise that no one asked for your thoughts on this.

I guess what I'm saying is, if you were assigned male at birth and you're going to start thinking aloud about someone else's business when there's not been a spoken or unspoken invitation... Think twice, please.

This happens a lot, friends. IT HAPPENS TO ME MORE HERE THAN ON TWITTER. I've given up letting people off. Now I just block people.
