Should Mastodon have polls? Like for no, boost for yes.
@boots I totally do agree with you, to be fair. :D
@cassolotl as you are someone who uses polls on the other site (I don't) - do they actually have value for your followers? Or do they just allow you to satisfy your own curiosity?
@ananana Hmmmm, both, I think? When I do polls and then post the results there, people seem interested and appreciative.
I think it depends a lot on the kinds of questions you like to ask and whether you have followers who're the target audience AND curious about the results.
@cassolotl @ananana
So @InspectorCaracal and I have a serial that currently uses Birdsite polls to determine the next course of action for our heroine. ( https://twitter.com/MarkedSerial )
It is very nearly the only reason I still use birdsite.
@aldersprig @cassolotl @InspectorCaracal That's really cool! It's lovely to see you joining more traditional storytelling techniques (adjusting your tale to the audience as they sit around in a room with you) with super-modern online stuff.
I assume it has worked out well, given you're still doing it ten chapters in?
@ananana @cassolotl It has! Ties are sometimes fun… but it’s going well. It’s a challenge for me, because the world belongs to
@InspectorCaracal and I’m used to making things up about the world on the fly. :-D
@cassolotl reported (for "i'm not sure that polls are the most important feature mastodon needs right now, for example a better filtering UI would be much appreciated and stuff")
