Scrivener seems very good and interesting. Is it worth getting a Mac for it?

@caesarologia If you don't have a Mac yet and there's no other reason for you to get a Mac, then probably no. Scrivener 3 for Windows will be released Soon™️ and it can be run on Wine on Linux.

But if you already have a Mac, then the situation is a bit different. For me Scrivener is the single biggest reason I'm still sticking with a Mac (because Scrivener for Mac and Scrivener for Windows are for some reason licensed separately...), otherwise I'd consider Linux instead.

@caesarologia probably don’t have to get a mac—I’ve used it on Windows and I’m currently using an unofficial Linux version because I love it so much

@alpine_thistle are you using the by any chance? If so, how did you get it to run? Thank you in advance!

@caesarologia I’m away from my computer and I can’t tell you what version I’m using, but there’s a patch in the forums that got it to work for me.

@alpine_thistle if it's not too much trouble, when you have a chance, I'd love for some directions on getting this version you mentioned please.:0130:
