current status: blender refuses to let me texture paint on one specific surface, which, yes, has been unwrapped and has a material + texture assigned
all clicks go through to the surface behind it...
if i assign it a different material it works why is my material not paintable
no matter how many times i delete, save, reload, and recreate the material β even if the material i recreate is default af β it still can't be painted on. all other materials are paintable.
@bossposs maybe it's actually painting but something about the material prevents this having a visible effect?
@LogicalDash i created a new texture and it's painting sort of ok, except now there's a circular spot where even with full brush strength it's just lightly tinting it... this is beyond insane, i can't imagine what setting could be doing this
@LogicalDash ... oh god it has this same hard to paint spot no matter what texture i'm using and no matter what material i apply to the surface
@LogicalDash i juuuust figured it out actually...somehow i'd enabled masking and it was set to a texture that didn't exist, god knows how >_>
@LogicalDash (i havent actually opened the slots panel before until this issue came up, so i have no idea how it happened)
@bossposs silly idea: what if you move it to a different part of the screen to do the painting
