The two characters to come: a Standard robot that survives off of Monster Energy, and a hero robot that without much self confidence tasked with something bigger than themself.

And also like, the community on that forum is so obviously heavily comprised of a combination of ESL speakers, some people that are probably a little young relative to the standard in most communities, and a whole lot of people that are not neurotypical. That kind of community demands clear address.

All of this can be done respectfully. When I was a kid on forums I saw this happen time and time again and there were never significant problems after the community had a long-needed discussion. When did the paradigm shift to just... quietly ignoring it or expecting it to change on its own?

Show thread

Don't just talk about it in private chats with your friends! Post about how you want the community to change! You don't even need to "call out" certain individuals to do this! If there's a problem, it needs to be addressed!

I'm on this forum for vocaloid stuff, and there's posts on there that constantly talk about how much drama there is in the forums and the community. I know things can get uselessly petty on Twitter, but aside from respectful disagreements about the sound of certain voicebanks and the look of new designs, I never see anything worthy of serious scorn happen there.

It makes me seriously wonder if I'm part of the problem, but I keep reading back on mine and others' previous posts and cannot figure out where the perception of toxicity is coming from. I don't mean to say they're lying or something, but I can't figure it out, and the subposting in the status bar I don't think is helping anyone.

There's a line in internet communities between being politely quiet about annoying behaviors that don't actually hurt anyone and being quiet about actually objectionable behaviors that hurt people. If you see a pattern of behavior on a public forum that makes you upset and is affecting the community, SAY SOMETHNG!

Shoutout to bilibili users for being, like, unironically some of the nicest people on the internet

"endpoint detection response. it's like doing stuff"

pinterest added a pronoun selector with neopronouns, OK cool, but why can't you input your own. like what.

mr. mangaka has robots automate all of his drawing for him

SO TRUE ARUTO. We love finding joy in the human experience!!! We love using technology to enhance it rather than take it away!!

It's like the budget went where it mattered: cool robot and superhero costumes. The fact that the VFX are so amateurish might be the special sauce that separates it from being a bad high-budget show and a piece of campy fun times that is just exuberant and oddly compelling.

Show thread

WHY IS THE MECHANICAL DESIGN SO GOOD. Why is it simultaneously extremely well done and SO low-budget and shitty. Why do all of the superhero transformation tools look like marketable toys, instead of superhero tools that are adapted later into marketable toys? Why are all of the characters so endearing? Why are the bad jokes so horribly bad but the way AIMS man reacts to them so horrifyingly funny?

Love when the dude just pulls out the gun in the baby superhero show

This show is not allowed. Silly kids show with exaggerated characters? A chuuni villain character I am left with no choice but to describe as "tumblr sexyman-esque"? Actual conversation surrounding the actual implications, both good and bad, of social robots? In the way that actually matters as well as the more goofy AI consciousness stuff? Cool mechanical design? Nonono you're not allowed to do this to me. No. No! Stop!!!
