making friends with people IRL from different countries has seriously been one of the most fun parts of college, I love hearing about people's hometowns and values. people are SO COOL. like yeah there's plenty of variety in the United States, but it's awesome to meet people that grew up in entirely different places and learn from them. I had a lot of friends of different cultural backgrounds before college, but everyone was either born in America or grew up in America.

it's just like, so often the issue for some is "people don't think like me about XYZ" but also, it's often a super positive and happy part of human life

and then you get the internet as just, like, a passive and sometimes unknowing source of persistent interaction of people from all sortsa different cultures.
