A little about me

I have a webdev job doing full stack but mostly frontend work.
My real passion is for game development so when I get off work I come home and work on my game.

Strongly leaning towards making a full transition from birdsite onto mastodon for the time being because I just really need those CW's to help me process.

dysphoria

Today's flavor of dysphoria is wanting to put my name on the game I'm making but not wanting to put my legal name on the game I'm making.

I wish I would hurry up and transition.

I've been having a crisis for the past 24 hours because I realized I'd need a mac and an apple developer account if I wanted my friends to play the mobile game I'm working on.

i dont trust devs that "test" their "builds." i release shit to the public without checking to make sure it works and then scramble to fix one million bugs over an afternoon

work

some days I just gotta remind myself that I'm only here for a few hours and that this job isn't my life.

It's hard not to put my full heart on the line for the software I'm working on.

I know this is just a temp job but I still care about making things good.

mental health

There are bad mental health days and then there are days where if I stop concentrating I start astral projecting.

Forgot meds on Saturday night and now the mania is coming for me

When you find out that the uuid generator is just Math.Random and it's providing the primary key to an important table of accounting software

I also love technology in general and hacking! I get really interested in a lot of maker movements (from electronics to cosplay).

After I publish my first game on the app store, I intend to spend time on those projects.

I'm also bipolar (type 2) so sometimes I'm high and sometimes I'm low.

It's been a few years since I've diagnosed so I like to think I've mostly got it "under control" but there are still some bad days.

I'm genderqueer and maybe one day I'll be fully trans but right now I need to present male for my job which is why my professional website uses a different name.

"April" is the name I want to use in the future. I also go by "Serket" on many platforms.
