Ordered a first test batch of some custom stickers.
These posts about how a Linux program decides how to turn a hostname into an IP address are great. I lost a few hours having to work this out for myself earlier in the week.

If you want to learn kubernetes then this seems like a nice way of playing with it in the browser with no installation needed.

Today I learned about https://levels.fyi - a site comparing career levels and salaries across different companies. Mostly US-based, but a heck of a lot more usable than Glassdoor.
Beginner tip: marry a blacksmith for free swords.

There are three kinds of listening:
Informational ("I never thought about it that way!")
Critical ("Here's how I would solve that problem...")
Empathetic ("That stinks. I have some experience with this if you're looking for help.").
People who respond to venting with unsolicited advice are listening critically. What the person often wants is empathetic, and they may be open to advice if your opening move is to show empathy.

Particularly when it means crossing the only surviving example of a camelback truss bridge in China.
When the air quality is so poor that you can see the pollution it's a really bad idea to go jogging in it. But really, who can resist such a Blade Runner backdrop.
Today I got to play Go against a robot, operate a CT scanner, do all sorts of fun science experiments, and watched robots complete Rubiks Cubes. Shanghai Science and Technology Museum is awesome.
(I may be a little over stimulated and need a nap now)
I just rode the Tron coaster at Shanghai Disney. And I don't mind admitting I cried a little at how awesomely cybre it is.
Shanghai Disney!
It's somewhat confusing in that it's s completely different layout to all other Disney parks, and some of the storylines are a bit confused.
There's also not that many attractions, so wait times are huge. I managed to do a grand total of one attraction today.
But, I have now seen every single Disney resort in the world, including the fake Beijing one.

If the only thing I have achieved today is riding a 300 km/h maglev train then it's been a successful day. World's fastest commercially operating train, done.
Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Yorkshire any more.
