@aleks Well I’m still using it. …still is a bit exagerated, I started to use it less than 4 years ago for IRC and 10 years ago for RSS.

@aleks and websites not having a horizontal bar that restricts the viewport

@otyugh @aleks I'm not old but I relate to this tbh

(PS: Do you know which book is that ?)

@otyugh @yaaaourtiere @aleks it’s from “Because Internet” by Gretchen McCulloch

@aleks yeah, being in a vibrant & pervasive living culture and being in a preservation society just aren’t the same thing.

@aleks i somehow miss usenet and it's cultures about as much as IRC being relevant.
RSS is still existing though, I have like 300 items in my reader everyday (most of which is noise coming from major news outlets).
It gets more difficult though, as you have to dig out the RSS URL from sourcecode usually😑 looks like its there by accident.

@aslmx (I don't know if that helps but in case you don't know about it, have a look at github.com/RSS-Bridge/rss-brid - though I don't personally use it)

@aleks i've used RSS generators in the past but never self hosted one. Will definitely keep a bookmark, thanks 🙃👍
