Very happy to see a strong message today of “don’t disengage now that the election is over.”

Obviously I follow a lot of active leftists on social media, but I am seeing that message spread and it is so important that people recognize that the radical change we seek cannot come from merely electing people who say the right things. We can’t even get much *harm reduction* from that act, unless we continue to pressure them and hold them accountable.

The work does not stop after an election, and I think there’s a better chance of people seeing that this time than there was 12 years ago.

Here’s a good article to share with your liberal friends, family and acquaintances on why things can’t just “go back to normal” now that Trump has been voted out.

another year, another failed attempt to get my employer to order company t-shirts that aren't "unisex sizing", which is t-shirt vendor for "made of burlap and only fits dudes" 😒

Polite reminder: Earth is a tree planet with some bacteria. Everything else is just the extra stuff that lives here too.

Seeing as it's #InternationalPronounsDay, I'd like to remind you that singular they/them are genderless pronouns by definition. These do not refer exclusively to any nonbinary gender identities, and do not belong to nonbinary people.

They/them can be used for anyone and everyone.

If you don't know what someone's preferred pronouns are, using they/them is always a gramatically correct choice, because these words refer simply to "this one person"

Try to remember that some people have a more complicated relationship with pronouns than you do.

Encouraging people in give pronouns in their bio is nice, but try not to be so heavy handed. It's rude to insist.

Instead, consider normalising the use of they/them for anyone who doesn't explicitly state their pronouns.

"Oh restless spirit, what binds you to this place," the priest asked.

The spirit lifted its head, its other hand full of books, "Not done reading them all."

Near the door, a secretly guilty king let out a relieved sigh. The queen elbowed him in the ribs.

"Er, can we convince you to ascend?" the king asked.

"Can't hear you, busy reading," the former king growled.

"But those books are forbidden!"

"To the living, yes. Thank you, brother."

so the NZ government is signing on with the whole "no one gets to have encryption" endeavours, which, as a social media host, means I won't be able to do things like "enable e2e encryption for my customers"

which I'm not happy about

Well this is 100% garbage, but the plate looks about right so far for the price. I have not indicated it at all though.

However, it was mostly purchased as a square/level reference for a 3D printer build so...probably more than overkill already.

Oh hey, I actually took a sleeping pill (half a benadryl) and got up early (9am) and drove out to this trail head.

I am sitting here in my car like “wow, yep, this is a real trail, and my legs are going to hate me tomorrow.” But I also know that this is kind of necessary, if I want to fuck in the woods with hiking lesbians.

She built a clockwork god and wound it up each morning. It ticked along, occasionally performing a minor miracle like reheating her forgotten tea or smiting a fly.
It wasn't much, but it was enough. Everyone needs something to believe in.
The god had faith she'd keep it wound up.
