A broad surface low centered near the east coast of the Yucatan
Peninsula of Mexico is producing widespread, but disorganized,
shower and thunderstorm activity. Environmental conditions
are forecast to become more conducive for development, and a
subtropical or tropical depression or storm is likely to form during
the weekend over the eastern or central Gulf of Mexico.

Alrighty, since we have potential Tropical Depression on our hands this Memorial Day weekend, I feel it's necessary to come back to this account.

This is to verify that I, UberActivist on, am @abby, @UberActivist, and @WeatherAbby on Mastodon.

this warning was just re-aligned focused directly around that green dot. That's the area they think a tornado might be.

I don't know much about this stuff but I usually do know whenever they cover this on TV, they say the green shouldn't be touching the red like this.

If you're northeast of Fort Smith Arkansas, make sure you're in your safe place.

From the watch message:

* Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 150 PM until
1000 PM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
Numerous tornadoes expected with a few intense tornadoes likely
Widespread large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5
inches in diameter likely
Widespread damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely
