@elomatreb My point isn't that increasing #search ability increases #privacy so much as decreasing #searchability does not increase privacy to the point that it's worth the decreased ability to find your old posts. At very least, I'd like each user to ha e full-text search for their own old posts
@elomatreb I'm trying to find a post I made about my desire for more #granular privacy settings, but I either tagged it with a tag that's too #popular and lost in a sea of other people's posts or didn't think to tag it at all (or just forgot which tag I used)
@USBloveDog I was just thinking about how Masto apparently doesn't have an export function for the content like Twitter does, downloading that and grepping is my usual approach when I want to find an old tweet of mine
@elomatreb I'd agree that an export option here is sorely needed, since instance-hopping (either voluntary or due to admins shutting their instances down) is still pretty common over here. The whole reason this is my main is because masto.dog got stuck on a 500 error and I can't even load the about page to e-mail the admin that his instance is broken.
I also put my #hashtags #inline instead of in the #tagcloud because this #shit ain't @Instagram
@USBloveDog @Instagram I keep forgetting to use #hashtags and feel like I should more often.
Inline is more difficult, I guess. Adding a hash-tag for topic might be more useful.
@USBloveDog ... how would increasing searchability improve privacy
