It's somewhat amusing that, people with interests in Norwegian and/or wishes to move to Norvegia(TM) think our language is neat and cool, but like,

A lot Norwegians here just speak in English. Maybe in spite? This in real life too.

Like, me and my sibling just, don't speak in Norwegian to each other anymore. Always when we are on our own, we automatically go over to English. Same with a lot of their friends and mine.

It's really odd.

@katnjia That's interesting, it's very much not the same here.

At least in Copenhagen, people are generally very willing to speak english to folks who don't dansk (to the point that it actually becomes difficult to keep a conversation in danish if your danish is more than a standard deviation from the norm), but danish is still very much The Language.
