I've posted this so many times before, but BitTorrent > Bitcoin

one aims to preserve ownership through inefficiency, the other enables sharing in the most efficient way possible

I know they're solving two different problems but...

are they really though?

@unascribed you know how when a torrent finishes downloading and it verifies the hashes of all the blocks?

it's like that but instead of downloading the blocks it reverses them from the hashes

@SuricrasiaOnline @unascribed it’s too bad you can’t really FEC based on the part hashes but also bit flips in transit are likely so uncommon that it would be pointless
