Is anybody in contact with @vantablack? Lack of posts is concerning considering what they were going through.

(I haven't, but I just wanted to offer a semi benign possibility)
If she's been committed, she probably won't be allowed any sort of outside access, at a minimum for the mandatory 72 hour hold.
She was technically in a waiting room pre eval, so they were lax-er, but in full hospitalization, that's my experience.
@goatmoat I don't understand this isolation thing of psychiatric care in the us. I had considered that, but she had been in the waiting room for 40+ hours. Does that count as part of the hold?

Technically, no, it does not.
When I was committed, voluntarily, I had my phone on me, and I sat in a waiting room with a TV. They forgot about me, and I didn't get admitted for ~12 hours, which did not count towards my time. I just spent that much more time in the hospital, not getting out til like 9 at night.
The hold really does not start until you're in the actual ward.
