"standing on the shoulders of giants"

This project would not be possible without the pioneering work of evanp and @cwebber along with @Gargron and @mmn and many others!

I really look forward to the May 31st beta launch of pixelfed.org

so, i run this awesome lit journal, Luna Station Quarterly(now in year 9 holy crap!) full of great stories by women-identified authors.

we've got a Patreon & we're getting close to increasing our author payments for the first time since we started paying people!

patrons get digital editions before everyone else has access (& print, depending on the level) & also sneak peeks of the covers. other stuff is in the works, too!

Hey elephants!

We still have over 2 months to go but I remembered that the exists and was wandering, if there are any out there who are going to participate.

And if so, wouldn't it be awesome if we had our own cozy fediverse team?

(It is a handspinning event that is happening every year in July during the bike event Tour de France. Basically people spinning all the yarn, setting themselves a challenge and sharing lots of beautiful pictures.)

trans representation, race & intersection, symbolism, feedback from trans PoC appreciated (3/2)

(note: please :dont_at_me: if you're not trans or not a PoC, this is their decision to make. the only reason i'm involving myself in this is because i have the responsibility to curate emoji that best represent the people who use this instance)

trans PoC: if you want to help with the decision making and design of this, you'll be compensated for your time

it was pointed out to me that :transgender_flag_black: -- which i had heard was meant to be an intersectional version of the trans flag that emphasized trans PoC -- has been used in the past by gender essentialist people to exclude those whom the white bar in :transgender_flag_white: was supposed to represent ("those who are intersex, transitioning or consider themselves having a neutral or undefined gender")

so my question for trans people of color is this: what do you think? i haven't seen this symbol used much but y'all are the ones who should have the final say since it's ultimately a symbol meant to represent you and make your identities more visible

there was a proposal to design some new emoji a la the intersectional pride flag ( :heart_pride: ) but i don't want to move forward on that without including y'all

I wrote a post on the first 50 days of Switter from my perspective and my real identity, and cover FOSTA/SESTA, the stress of running Switter, getting kicked off Cloudflare and the DDOS attack we got hit by last week.

I'm a bit intrigued to submit a talk, but i'm not completely sure about what exactly 馃

@Nervengift yes because hashtag search results are considered as kind-of public timelines and unlisted toots aren't supposed to show up there.

I'm here for: criticising nation states and governments, discussing cultural appropriation, not getting the celebration of European countries through bad music while people die at the borders

I'm not here for: using ESC for undifferentiated anti-Israel propaganda.

wtf, please just unfollow if you into this shit
