Why o why do half the links to accounts I click open where they should (right hand column) and others open in a new tab, that doesn't know who I am or what server I'm from.

I.. Masto increasingly seems like a very buggy mess indeed as a framework. I was going to transfer to awoo, but account transfers don't really seem to work that well, so I worry about losing all the people I've met at this account, like NY has ended up having happen to them.

We're making a concious effort not to folllow any accounts that post pol stuff without a CW

(we used to do a political/SJ wordpress inn Our Youthe, and.. Yeesh. The amount of nasty, hateful comments was enough to put us off for a long, long time)

I know I don't post here much (sorry, I've.. Not been at front much), but I do feel like;

If we're going to be making posts about politics, it's possibly more useful/widespread if we were to do so in longform on some sort of blogging platform.

Longform has obvious advantages, and not being just-on-Mastodon has more potential for.. Reaching a wider audience. Which is good and bad, but so long as you can disable comments, that's half of the cons down.

Like, there were a few hills that going down would have been Really Bad Ideas, but I think if there was any drifting to be had there it would have been "into the trunk of a tree, very fast, possibly whilst horizontal"

Went out in the snow and ice in my wheelchair today.

Drifting Experiment #1: Disappointing. Media observation suggests I may need 'nitro', or possibly some sort of blue spark solution applied to my wheels before attempting again.

I'd like to pop a reminder to all that "Outrage of the Week" is a thing that should really be CW'd by default, regardless of the content.

And that regardless of whether something is Outrage of the Week, if it's usually CW territory, it doesn't make not-CWing it any kinder on folks just because it's the Hot Thing atm.

Be kind to people. CW things, and make everyone else's timelines (& so Mastodon as a whole) a less stressful, safer & generally better community, okay?

One of my other medical things manages to trump Autism for "X can occur throughout a person's life, but /absolutely all resources/ will assume you're a parent of a child with X"

These two Metsuke (secret police) were just sat in one of my districts for /an entire year/ trying to arrest each other and failing repeatedly.

Watching it happen on the strategy map was bemusing, until I realised I just had the Fuedal-Japan-version of "Infernal Affairs" happen in my game.

(Included in the picture is a Ninja I sent to assassinate the rival Metsuke. He failed, too. ..I just decided to leave them to it in the end)

Just measured myself for the first time in.. Years?

a) Measuring yrself is hard and involves pinning things to a tight t-shirt and hoping a lot

b) I'm exhausted now with that & groceries & bin changing

c) Kinda embarrassed how much we've forgotten in practice, but it's coming back to me

Task achieved! Now we can make kickass jackets and suchlike. ..Just not now, I need to rest. =_=

I'm sorry for being so depressing today, everyone. I'm.. Despairing at our own circumstances, and rerouting it at the wider societal ills that compound them.

Regardless of how verbose I am about it, this isn't very productive. *sigh*
