Apparently last night a fascist got thrown out of #36c3 by the security team.

He posted this report about the incident:

What he does not mention: also serves the domains,,, and
(Source: )

If he had read the banner above the entry, he could have known that he is not welcome 🤷

@compl4xx this is absolutely not intended as a defense of vc's domain name choices and conduct at c3, but i do want to note that calling him an all-out fascist is probably a stretch without more unambiguous evidence to that effect. this kind of offensive "shitposting" is normal in certain image board communities (from which ultimately emerged) and doesn't necessarily indicate any tangible political views.

@Flisk @compl4xx do i have to tell you a story about how i been on his mumble once that like three people visit and heard a guy unironically blaming (((the jews))) for his life being shit

@Flisk @compl4xx normalizing fascism ain't fucking cool mate

@kat @compl4xx no, it's not. hence "this is not intended as a defense". i'm absolutely not a fan of this kind of humor.

@Flisk @compl4xx then why try to defend it, the guy literally hosts an email for the most despicable human beings on the planet

@Flisk @kat I didn't assume that :) it is important to question a process like that; and this is of course not adhering to standards of law or anything. So thanks for asking the critical questions.

It does not have to meet the standards of law though; the congress is a private event with a code of conduct, and decisions about who is kicked out of it are done exactly like this. The conversation about whether it was justified or not is still important, because it will affect future policy.

@compl4xx @kat yeah, fully agree. i'm more comfortable with people like him not being here. c3 is no place for fascists or people "pretending to be fascists for lulz". that shit is rancid.

@kat @compl4xx that's entirely up to you, but i don't think i would be convinced without a recording. sorry, but i just don't know who you are.

@Flisk his writing style speaks for itself and is a typical example for what Adorno called the authoritarian character, and researched in his concept of the F-scale. He uses too much dogwhistling not to be a fascist imho; I refer to the psychological concept of fascism here, not the political agenda.

A few quotes:

@Flisk "I should have been paying closer attention to the cancer that's been infecting this place for years." - whoever the fascist thinks an enemy of themselves is usually marked as a disease; this is tied into "Vernichtungsfantasien" of rotting out the disease once and for all.

@Flisk Then there is also this post where he criticized cloudflare for not serving the daily stormer anymore:

"These obviously untrained women were LARPing as real security guards" - he obviously can't see women in positions of authority. While the concept of private security guards is questionable, he doesn't have a problem with that - it seems he was just pissed that he was kicked out by women.

@compl4xx i think this conversation isn't gonna yield a satisfying enough result to justify its length. i definitely see how you'd arrive at the conclusion that vc is a fascist, and i appreciate that you took the time to explain.

@Flisk "Sea-Watch, whose activities are described as charity by some, and human trafficking by others" - and to put some icing on the cake he *does* support some parts of the fascist agenda.

@compl4xx I'm not defending facism either, but I have to say one thing. Attacking other people and confiscating their property while they are not acting disruptively at that moment, only on the basis of their previous opinions&actions, is exactly the same as attacking people based on religion, sex, skin color, origin... If you want to show you are better than facists, you have to act better than them. I know I will not convince you, so I won't respond any more. I'm just giving you a mirror.

@datione @compl4xx That'd be assault, severe battery (because multiple people), robbery, and a few other things.

The guy is a dick, but I kinda hope crew crew gets hurt over this. I've found their attitude to be very rent-a-cop "I'm better than you", including how they acted in the day 1 angel introduction meeting. That's not how you do security. Hell, *I* know better, any my security experience is with the Army.
