okay seriously, anyone with some experience with chronic illness give my some pointers for surviving like this?
it's really really hard
I am a stroke survivor. All I can offer is you gotta play the hand you're dealt and make a point to do what's hard for you. Hope you will feel better.
@Eldritch_Horrorgirl I've seen so many people. Hope someone gives you some advice. Stay strong.
@Eldritch_Horrorgirl knowing your limits and being honest w/ yourself - but not cruel to yourself - about them is part of it
remembering things you *can* do and continuing to do them is important.. so is finding new things to replace the things you shouldn't do any more
friends are important for help when you need it
it's still really hard and the specter of health declining over time is sometimes the worst of it. but the other parts of life can get better, too, and it's worth sticking it out for those.
@lifning Thank you, that's really hopeful, really good advice
That's a good way to refocus ![]()
