X-RAY room cleaning is going well
The main improvement is that we actually know where things are. We recently had to rush order a part. When cleaning we discovered we had a spare and didn't know it. Now everything is going into neatly labelled drawers. We still might not know what it is, but we know all the stuff with that instrument is in one place.
Plus, see all those empty shelves? Each user in my lab gets half a shelf, each other main lab gets a set of 3 shelves to divide up how they want, and minor users each get half a shelf. #RealTimeChem #xrd
So when you take a users crystal off, you label it and put it in their space. This is better, as the prior system was you put it on the counter, and then some users would never clean their samples off the counter. #RealTimeChem #XRD
Also: WE FOUND SO MUCH USEFUL STUFF. 3 tubes of high vac oil, 1 tube of the good vac oil, and one tube of the REALLY expensive oil you use on the stills. A bunch of tools, a VARIAC which we need (just needed a new power cable)..... #realtimechem #XRD
We also gave away a bunch of wires and batteries and cables to the electronics shop.
We would have purged more, but my boss made us stop. The Nonius is NEVER going to run again, but he still wants to keep the fuses and such for it. Just in case. #RealTimeChem #xrd
