Things I found in the acid cupboard that DO NOT GO THERE. EVER. pH10 buffer. When I picked up the bottle IT CRACKED OPEN THE PLASTIC WAS SO FRAGILE. Also the acid spill kit. FFFFFFFF. Guess what I'm bringing up at group meeting tomorrow?

@Canageek I have a feeling you're so desensitized to the phrase by now that you've forgotten how badass and scary "acid cupboard" sounds.

@richardgoodness I mean where else would you keep your acids? >.>

@Kyna of course it was just a pH 10 buffer and I was wearing safety equipment. iph 10 I could probably just poured that on my hands and still be fine. the problem if it was if it leaks while in the acid covered it could possibly mix with the acids there which would cause a major safety concern.

well, ya know what they say: do what you aught'a.... Show more

IT. GETS. WORSE. The fracking safety people demanded we put the acid spill kit in the acid cupboard. *head desk, head desk* You don't put things that react with acid, in with the acid. Acid spill kits, by definition, react with acid.

@Canageek
OMG. I hate it when safety people insist on things that undermine safety.

The worst behaviour I've heard of from a university safety person was to move a blast shield to see what was behind it. Every chemist in the room ducked and yelled.
