I'm on this weeks Ocarina and Wine as a special guest! My brother's podcast, he and his girlfriend normally talk about a video game she (a non-gamer) has just played for the first time. However, I'm part of a special series where he interviews all his family members about their history with games.

If you want to hear what I sound like, or discover my first name, give it a listen. Or if you want to hear me be interviewed about video games.

His Birbsite messages on it:

"If you've wanted a podcast where two people geek out about Ogre Battle 64, look no further! Check out @Canageek on Ocarina & Wine this week!"

"We also discuss Baten Kaitos, Baldurs Gate, Super Mario Land 2 and more. Find it on ocarinaandwine.com and podcast services!"

@Canageek You are a diplomat!
"never been to film school" :-)
I'm neither a gamer nor a wine drinker though.
Also, cider must be more of a thing in southern bc.

@gemlog Probably. It was barely on the menu in Ontario, here every place has it.

@Canageek City thing ;-)
In ten years the idea will move north and we'll all think it's cool too!

@gemlog Learned that one the hard way...

@gemlog Yeah, I used to get into arguments for being too elitist. But I want to do outreach, and you aren't going to win anyone over that way.

@Canageek you definitely didn't come across as elitist. I was totally impressed that you didn't take the bait (assuming your bro was messing with you) and didn't put film school into a hierarchy of studies. W/e. If it was an innocent question my admiration of your response still stands.

@gemlog I think he was trying to talk me up a bit, but yeah, something I"m training myself not to do, since it is a bad habit of mine.

@zigg Such a great game! I should go finish it.

@zigg Never finished the first one, so didn't start the second.

@Canageek Origins pretty much blows away the original. I’d recommend it to pretty much anyone, even if they have never touched the first.

That said, if you’re going to finish the first game, you’ll of course get more out of it story-wise.

@zigg I'd need a gamecube to do that. I've got a PC and an N64.

@Canageek Pretty sure you can emulate these days? I haven’t tried though. I do have my GCN yet.

@zigg Is I'll get around to it some day. Working on Ogre Battle 64 and Divinity: Original Sin right now.

@Mainebot @zigg Will keep that in mind, not like I don't own the disk, just not a GCN.

@Mainebot @zigg Other people have heard of it! ^^

@Canageek @zigg

I thought Baten Kaitos: origins was a tighter experience with way better VA work, but as a pair I loved them!

Note: The composer of Baten Kaitos is Motoi Sakuraba, and wow, look at what she has worked on en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motoi_Sa

Dark Souls series
Mario Tennis series
Bravely Default
Tales of Symphonia
Golden Sun series

Wow.

If you found my thoughts on game preservation interesting, go look up Frank Cifaldi he has spent YEARS on this. gdcvault.com/play/1023470/-It-

Opps! Motoi Sakuraba is a he, sorry!
