@TheGibson Working on a lab. At the end of the day I accidently turned the stills back ON instead of off as I saw the solvent was still bubbling so I thought it was still heating
To keep air out you close all the valves.
Which means overnight all the solvent boiled up into the upper vessel and the sodium was smoking and glowing in the morning.
It was only by luck I didn't burn down the lab or cause an explosion. We labeled things better after that!
