@lifning @QuestForTori seconding this
also, i'm a senior dev/sysadmin who uses vim exclusively, so you can just lay on the thick technical stuff and i'll be able to understand
I can't move to the Fediverse properly until I reproduce my famous pinned post from the birdsite, so here it is:
P.S.A. To all vintage computer and video game collectors:
Go through your collections and GET THE DAMN BATTERIES OUT!
Now! Don't wait! Seriously, put down the phone, go to your collection and take out all the batteries. Right now! Even if they look "okay" they are NOT SAFE after this much time.

@pup_hime debased and cringepilled
kin stuff Discourse
@hierarchon i've just come to accept that "kin" and "otherkin" have become wholly separate and distinct terms due to the descriptive evolution of language, and that there's not much else anyone can do about it. the ship has sailed.
@thatonecalculator a lot of these TLD owners are virtual landlords who live in the bahamas and have no idea how technology works or what the market is
many of them just assume that a single big $22k transaction is better and easier to support than 1000+ $20 transactions, or that the "exclusivity" of a high price is more desirable for that market
but that's not really how the internet works, so many of them drop their prices after a couple of years because of it lol
@thatonecalculator TLD registries can charge whatever they want for a domain and the registrars have to abide by it, basically
whoever owns ".spreadbetting" decided $22k was the starting price, I guess
not all witches are religious, and wicca is not "the witch religion" where you must be wiccan to be a witch
no disrespect to those who are but i've only found myself in private practice and esotericism
