I've heard of Robbie! @Alamantus

As I develop my board game, more and more I think that it should not be a print and play game and instead have, like, real components and pieces and stuff... But then that leads me to considering Kickstarter and hiring an artist and all sorts of things involving money and I just... eeeehhh

money is hard

@Alamantus There is this:

thegamecrafter.com/

Not sure of the quality, but might be a good way to get a 1st edition out there and build up buzz for a 2nd printing.

@craigmaloney I've considered looking into that before! A 1st edition would definitely be a good idea, maybe ship a few to some friends or something... Could be fun!

But then there's still the problem of... money

@quinterbeck It's a trade and exploration kinda game! You explore planets to build up enough money to find and interpret alien beacon signals so you can be the first to find where an ancient treasure is hidden on the board!

I still need to try out the rewritten rules to see if it's any fun, but hopefully it is! Haha

@Alamantus That sounds super fun, especially interpreting alien beacon signals :D

@Alamantus make it print and play first and make a special edition with nice pieces later if it's successful

@Alamantus Yeah, money is really hard. What are you going for with your board game?

@PaulFerence It's a trade and exploration kinda game! You explore planets to build up enough money to find and interpret alien beacon signals so you can be the first to find where an ancient treasure is hidden on the board! There are a bunch of other moving parts and stuff, too, but I still need to playtest it to see if it's actually any good, too. 😛

@Alamantus Interesting? Well, until you've got a system you're comfortable with, use simple paper cut-outs or downloasd images to use as place-holders before soaking money in to it.
